Photo Book Velvet

Used widely across fashion and interiors, velvet has long been a go-to fabric for creating a high-style look.  Before the advent of modern industrial looms, velvet was quite costly to produce—and therefore available only to wealthy and royal families.  It’s a common misconception that velvet is high-maintenance. In truth, the fabric isn’t all that delicate and can last for decades if properly cared for.  Velvet is just like leather (or a fine wine): It gets only better with age.

Printed on the latest digital premium press you now have the option of two binding methods for your photo book.

Magazine style is the binding method you know, where it is recommended you don’t design over the middle section of the book.  We use 170 gsm Satin paper and print on both sides.

Layflat style is where we print the left page and right page of the photo book as one single image which folds in the middle to give you two pages.  You can design over the fold, so large panoramic images come to life, your book will lay flat when open, and it is well worth your investment.  Pages have a more luxurious feel as they have more substance (340 gsm), and you won’t lose any part of the image to the centre. Pages are protected with either a matt or gloss OPP layer which will make it spill-proof.
